The Student Association Finance Committee released its initial allocations bill this weekend and passed it along for consideration by the full senate.
With less money available in this year’s budget compared to last year, many organizations may not be receiving the same amount of funding they did last year.
Major student organizations receiving funding this year include: the College Republicans with $8,911, the College Democrats with $4,894.
Perhaps the biggest change between last years SA initial allocations bill is no funding for EMeRG, GW’s student Emergency Response team.
The Interfraternity Council received $12,300 while the Panhellenic Association received $10,440.
None of the figures released this weekend have been finalized. The bill must be passed to the full SA Senate and then signed by SA President Lamar Thorpe. Members of the senate may make changes to the bill and alter how much funding organizations receive. Upon both the senate passing the bill and Thorpe’s signature funding will be available tot eh organizations.
The full SA Senate will be considering the bill on Tuesday night in the Marvin Center. See a pdf of the bill attached here: AllocationsBill.pdf
