News that D.C. is slated to get its first Pinkberry – the popular frozen yogurt chain on the west coast – has been swirling around the District.
Yet GW students and Foggy Bottom residents shouldn’t get too excited. The chain will not be moving into The Avenue – the large development project across from the GW Hospital.
Boston Properties Senior Project Manager Jake Stroman, who is managing The Avenue project, told The Hatchet Monday that Pinkberry is not one of the vendors his company has spoken with or are currently speaking to about leasing part of the property.
The mixed-use development called The Avenue, located at 2200 Pennsylvania Ave., includes apartments, office space and retail. Last month Stroman confirmed that a Whole Foods Market will be part of the development.
But, just because The Avenue won’t house the frozen yogurt shop, doesn’t mean other places in Foggy Bottom are up for consideration.
Pinkberry did not return request for comment on their location in D.C.
