Love poems were the theme of District-based education non-profit Higher Achievement’s spoken-word poetry evening Monday.
Poetry has been a mainstay of the after-school center’s curriculum and the performances are designed to empower the young students to express themselves, Abby Cohen, director of program partners for Higher Achievement, said.
