The No. 5-seed GW women’s basketball team defeated No. 12-seed Boise State 76-67 Saturday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Colonials jumped out to an early 19-0 lead and led the entire game. Sophomore Jessica Adair had 15 points and 21 rebounds, the second most rebounds in a game in program history. Senior Kenan Cole had 16 points, while sophomores Sarah-Jo Lawrence and Kim Beck added 14 points apiece.
The Colonials next face No. 4-seed Texas A&M Monday. Tip-off time has not been released. GW has never faced the Aggies.
