Update, 8:46 p.m. –
The Colonials have wrapped up a 75-59 victory over the Spiders for their third straight win. Sarah-Jo Lawrence had 19 points to lead GW, while Jessica Adair added 17. GW will need to wait for the results of the Temple and Xavier games tonight to see what the seeding situation will look like for the A-10 Tournament.
Update, 8:18 p.m. –
With just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, GW has jumped out to a 52-41 lead over the Spiders. Thought the difference is at 11 right now, the largest of the game, this half seems to be closer than the score indicates. Richmond had cut the lead to just three a few minutes ago, and the game could have been tied if not for a quick timeout call by McKeown.
Still, GW has been finding ways to put the ball in the basket even without Adair, whose been heavily guarded this half. Sarah-Jo Lawrence now has nine points, and Antelia Parrish and Kim Beck have seven apiece.
Update, 7:45 p.m. –
Halftime has arrived with the Colonials still clinging to a four-point lead over the Spiders 36-32. Offensively, GW has produced pretty well, with plenty of open shots. Jessica Adair dominated the Richmond paint for the latter part of the half, and her point total is now at 14.
On defense GW has held the Spiders to 45 percent shooting, but has surrendered nine free throws that are keeping Richmond in the game. I’ve seen a number of strategic defensive lapses by GW in the half too, including one that forced McKeown to call a timeout and take off his jacket.
Update, 7:24 p.m. –
Halfway through the first period GW holds a 20-14 lead over the Spiders. The Colonials seem pretty confident here and have made only one or two mistakes so far. The only issue for GW is Antelia Parrish’s 2 fouls that she racked up pretty quickly.
Jessica Adair leads GW with 6 points.

I’m here at the Robins Center at the University of Richmond for tonight’s women’s basketball clash between GW and Richmond. Play has just gotten underway and the game’s only points thus far have come from a Whitney Allen three-pointer.
Attendance here is about average for a women’s game, though it seems like no students are here. In other news, it looks like coach Joe McKeown might have gotten a haircut since the Colonials’ last victory at St. Joe’s.
