GW women’s basketball advances to Sweet 16

STANFORD, Calif. — The sixth-seeded GW women’s basketball team defeated third-seeded University of California 55-53 Monday night at Maples Pavilion to advance to the Sweet 16 for the second time in two years. They will travel to Greensboro, N.C., to play the winner of tonight’s game between second-seeded Rutgers and seventh-seeded Iowa State.
