Senior Jessica Adair was waived by the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury yesterday, four days before the team’s training camp was scheduled to begin. Adair was selected in the third round of the WNBA Draft April 9.
Adair said last week that in the event of a cut, she would play overseas in the meantime before attempting to make a WNBA roster again next season.
In her four years as a Colonial, Adair ranked 11th all-time in points at GW with 1,475, as well as seventh in rebounds (770) and fifth in blocks (161). She was named to the Atlantic 10′s first team for the third time this past season, becoming the 10th player in conference history to do so.
