Sophomore Owen Beightol was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week Monday, after pacing GW’s offense in the team’s three victories last week.

Beightol hit .417 while leading the team to a 2-1 series victory over Georgetown over the weekend, and was also a major factor in an 8-4 win against Towson last Wednesday. He went 2-for-5 against Towson, including an RBI double, and followed that performance with six total hits against the Hoyas, including two doubles and a home run. Beightol went 4-for-4 at the plate in the final game against Georgetown Sunday.

GW and Beightol next head to College Park, Md., to face Maryland Tuesday at 6 p.m.
