Welcome to the metro news section of Newsroom, tucked away here in the new GW Hatchet blogosphere! My name is Eric Roper, and I will be one of the primary posters here, though I hope it is also an interactive experience.
When I was initially asked to develop my agenda for this blog, I came up with several goals that I hope to accomplish. To begin, I want this to be a place to inform readers of the more fleeting emergencies in the area — incidents which may not add up to a full story but are important nonetheless. I hope to keep you informed when there are emergency vehicles on campus.
Second, and perhaps more important, I would like to provide a forum and constant news source for the Foggy Bottom residents. In the coming months, you will see that local community issues (many non-GW related) will be addressed here, and perhaps no where else. This will mean increased coverage of ANC, FBA, and MPD community meetings. Often the physical limitations of the paper force us to focus on GW-related concerns, but I want to abandon that focus here on the blog.

Is Dorothy Miller still on the ANC?

Ms. Miller is no longer on the ANC. She left the commission in May, and the Foggy Bottom news reported she had medical problems.
She is not completely out of the game, however. This October, she was one of few opponents to the University’s plan to allow outsiders access to the gym, citing traffic concerns.
What is the status of allowing outsiders to use the gym
