    Wah, wah.

Oh, S.A. politics. It goes completely full circle. Many people were hoping the Brandon Sherr days were over, but now it looks like they continued through Wylie and will likely continue through some other lonely soul.

Despite who you think should win and despite what feelings you may have about the politics of the JEC, this really all comes down to how a generally incompetent and petty body can change itself, if only temporarily, to be productive and get some positive things done. The S.A. has always been plagued by petty bickering and egotistical people who forget that they’re working for the students and not for themselves. You’re not suppose to do this just to put it on your resume. Luckily, this briefly ended with the Capp Administration and that’s the only reason why Safeway is on gworld.

Whenever bickering and divisive politics come into play, we end up with administrations like the current one or Lamar’s, or Audai’s…. Whatever the result of this election may be, it already appears that we’re heading down the wrong road once more, even before a president is elected.

This is just one more example of GW missing the point. Kyle is by far the best candidate out there and because of $92 GW is going to remove him as a candidate. This kid was out there on H st in a friends car busting his ass for some election that really means nothing but no, that is considered wrong by gw.

Add this to the list the No fun police UPD and the SJS bullshit GW students face on a regular basis

    this is Just not right.

    boycott the runoff

  6. Boyer? says:

Good. I think Boyer has been untruthful all along with his BS about the Unity Ball, which I’ve already ranted on, but which shows him to be either a liar or a leader completely out of touch with his organization…

Regardless…this isn’t “one more example of GW missing the point”… this is an example of fair play being enforced by STUDENTS, not administration. There are rules and you gotta play by them. If Kyle can’t pull a campaign together within the fair limits of an election, than I’m glad he’s kicked out before we waste more time on an administration that will do little. I think either Bindelglass or Polk will be excellent Presidents.

  7. OMGNOWAY! says:

Just another example of a bunk of dorks playing make believe politics with each other because they’ll never make it anywhere in the real government.

  8. anonymous says:

can someone ask wylie why he is such a TOOL?

  9. Cam Tepfer says:

Yeah God, complete BS. Let’s boycott the election. Heck, I’m going to boycott baseball because of all the criticism people are giving A-Rod. Let’s boycott the Olympics because how they treated Marion Jones. Really?

Boyer knew the rules. He broke the rules. It doesn’t matter if it’s by one dollar or one-thousand dollars. Cheating is cheating.

  10. Andrew says:

Gee, I wonder why people don’t care about the SA? Probably because they’re always doing dumb crap like this – he borrowed a friend’s car. Way to energize the students and get them interested.

  11. anonymous says:

really- you’re comparing Kyle not reporting using a friend’s vehicle to ARod doing steroids? I know you probably think SA elections are more important that MLB or the Olympics- but that’s b/c you’re an SA TOOL.

and SA TOOLS and the theatrics they pull (like booting Kyle out after coming 2 votes from winning outright) are why people at GW hate SA TOOLS.

Can we get rid of the SA and JEC all together?

  12. Really?!?! says:

Yeah I totally agree Andrew….You know following the rules is completely “dumb crap” to be doing….Just quit while you’re ahead

  13. J says:

The rules are there for a reason – to at least attempt to give whoever wants to run an equal shot at the top prize. A guy like Boyer, who already has the weight of (don’t quote me on this) the largest fraternity on campus behind him has no excuse for going over his budget, even by a penny.

This isn’t just a money thing either; he was literally overshadowing other candidates with his resources, not to mention entering the race with the advantage of some kind of name recognition.

  14. Cam Tepfer says:

Anonymous, you big proud man who can’t even right his own name (if you’re a girl my apologies), I refer you to my letter to the editor of one week ago. You can find it because I list my actual name like a grown up. I am no SA Tool. But cheating is cheating. Whether it’s sports, whether it’s academic, and yes whether it’s student government.

Also, your caps lock button may be broken.

  15. A Senator to be says:

Can we get rid of this blog?

  16. Don't Tread on Me says:

Is the SA broken, yes. Should it be completely scrapped and rebuilt from scratch, yes. Does JEC need to fix itself so it is more simplistic, yes. Did Boyer find himself unable to do basic addition or an inability to understand that rules apply to everyone equally, take a guess. Thats how the system works. It may be broken but Boyer broke what is likely the most straightforward portion of it, spend under $1,000 or you are done.

I think the fairest and simplest way to fix the system is to greatly decrease the spending limits. With them reaching to the level of $1,000 the SA is structured in a way to prevent any student who cannot borrow daddy’s pocketbook for an election. No wonder the SA does not work, it is built in a way to support the election of people who have never needed to think about proper utilization of money set to distribute a large budget.

  17. Stat Major says:

2 votes is not statistically significant. The election system should have built in safeguards to avoid embarrassing situations like this.

  18. Really?!?! says:

    Stat Major-

We do have safeguards built in to prevent embarrassing situations…they’re called the rules and no one seems to really want to follow them anyways so what good would more “safeguards” really do

  19. Coalition for Reform says:

Where is Ben Traverse and Asher Corson when we really need them?!?!?!?!?!?!?
