Travelers beware.
Beginning tonight, street closures for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings will take effect, and Metro is warning of delays, citing scheduled maintenance work.
From 7:30 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 25, the following roads will be closed: 18th, 19th and 20th Streets from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue. H Street will also be closed between 20th Street And Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the Washington Post.
Parking will be restricted on these streets, as well as in the 600 blocks of 18th, 19th and 20th Streets, according to the Post. Parking is suspended in the 2000 Block of H Street, and in the 1700 and 2000 Blocks of G Street. These parking restrictions will last until 6 a.m. Monday, April 26.
Those wanting to travel by rail will also run into delays this weekend.
Like last weekend, Metrorail riders can expect delays of up to 40 minutes this weekend, according to Metro.
Old track components will be replaced on the Red, Blue and Orange lines, causing trains to share the same track in some areas, according a Metro press release.
The Foggy Bottom Metro station will be impacted by the installation of a new rail switch at the Rosslyn station, according to the release. Delays are expected on the Orange line between Foggy Bottom and Courthouse stations, and on the Blue line between Arlington Cemetery and Foggy Bottom stations, the release added.
