GW will not house a Republican presidential candidate debate, a spokesperson for the University said Wednesday night.

“We were approached about being a host site for a Republican presidential debate, but there is no debate scheduled to be held at the University at this time,” University spokeswoman Candace Smith said.

Word spread Tuesday and Wednesday that GW could be the home for the Nov. 15 debate on foreign policy and national security. The debate would be co-hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, CNN and the Heritage Foundation.

Just more proof of a liberal GW! Why wouldn’t the University host the debate, it only makes the school look better.

  2. what says:

“we were approached” implies they turned it down. Please find out if that’s true

  3. Paul says:

Check GWPeterK’s twitter. He says otherwise…

  4. Ted Dooley says:

I’d be willing to bet that within 4 days a new article will be published saying GW will host the debate. Everyone knows how laden with red-tape GW is in terms of a contract. There is probably a contractual or commitment issue before they can officially announce.

  5. Ted Dooley says:

Unless the nancypantsy liberal school that is GW turned down the Debate Commission because it features only republicans in the republican debate. Wouldn’t surprise me.
