Thank you! This article was very well written and I COMPLETELY AGREE! I am a student and I work in the CCAS and every semester my department struggles to get enough money to hire the appropriate teachers, or offer the appropriate classes. Our desk chairs in our larges classroom are falling apart, cracked, and downright gross. I swear they’re from the 80s anyway! It’s absurd that the other schools receive so much help, and yet the departments that arent on the top of the “get you a job working for the president” list, get over looked and just plain forgotten about. It’s sad really.
Through a little money toward the liberal arts school, GW, after all you brag about offering an incredible ‘liberal arts education’, why don’t you show some support the them!
This article has some credence but you are overlooking that fact that CCAS students are not the only students who are banished to the “dungeon” of the Academic building or Corcoran. Despite being an International affairs major myself, I have not had one single class in the Elliot building for the past 3 semesters. Don’t forget the other nice buildings such as the SMPA and Hall of Government/Monroe. While yes I agree that some of these buildings need to be renovated, don’t pretend that only CCAS students are subjected to outdated classrooms, the rest of us are, too.
