Michael Jackson for SA President

Alex Shoucair, a junior, argues that voting for a joke write-in candidate will do the most good in sending a message to the Student Association.

“What the SA needs a wake-up call. A large number of students writing in a de facto vote of no confidence might be able to give them one. Though years of low turnout and grumblings of discontent have taken a toll on the institutional value of the SA, it has done little to effect the way the SA actually functions.”

  1. Bad Idea says:

I think that’s a horrible idea. It’s pretty clear that people dislike the SA. If everyone wrote in joke candidates, at the end of the day, we’d be left with a president that 10 students voted for, and we’d be back where we started.

  2. Bah says:

Look, if it leaves us back where we started as a worst-case scenario, why not do it?

  3. Please. says:

    IAWTC.

Also, this joke is unoriginal. Remember “Cockass McDouchbag”? Remember how that was funny for about five minutes?

    F for Effort, Mr. Shoucair.

  4. why i don't vote... says:

This is so ridiculous and petty. Who is filing these complaints? Get a life, GW, the SA is make-believe and not a real government. Winning you CCAS seat doesn’t make you more likely to be a real Senator one day. Get over yourselves and actually do something when you get elected.

  5. Fed Up says:

    Bad Idea:

And writing someone in is worse than the current system….how?

  6. why i don't vote... says:

oops, that post was meant for the story on 40 election complaints being filed
