The Hatchet’s editorial board argues that the School of Medicine and Health Sciences must finally release the LCME report that placed its accreditation on probation, in light of recent events.
“It’s not hard to understand why the school would want to minimize the press surrounding what is likely an isolated and extreme incident – which may or may not exist, pending disclosure of the report. Nonetheless, everyone connected to SHMS, especially the students, has the right to know about whatever these infamous reports hold. Committing an unthinkable amount of time, money and energy to a medical education trumps any fear of public backlash the school may have.”

Basically the “Skipper” as I refer to John Williams has committed the NUMBER ONE PR foul . . . there are endless problems in Ross Hall. . . I encourage everyone to come take a tour. You don’t just put a school on probation for the crappy study space. What I love is what has been done to the 2nd floor of the Himmel aka Himmelfarb library. They have removed all the magazines (finally) but it is one big open space with folding tables. . ha ha ha! WHAT A JOKE! FINALLY the library is “carding” to make sure that there are no undergrads in the building. I mean come on! We are already crammed as it is- and NO ONE seems to mention that the SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH also shares the building with the med students- which I can assure you we wish we didn’t. They always get priority over us, even though we pay the same tuition. Frankly, Public Health students are chuckling at their probation because so many med students are so arrogant. HOWEVER for the med students that are AMAZING it is not fair to put their reputations on the line, or the incoming med students. GW needs to open up and talk about what is really going on. . .
