Freshman Lucas Hagerty, a Hatchet columnist, calls on GW to provide more support to club sports.
“So with all the good things club sports have to offer, you would think GW would support and encourage its club sports teams just a little bit more. GW preaches that it wants to provide a complete building experience for its students. Academics are first, but creating a well-rounded individual prepared for life after school is important. So why are club sports underfunded and put on the back shelf?”

I’m sorry but I disagree with your solutions. I agree that you should be allowed to find out the schedule at the vern. But, as it is GW varsity sports don’t have enough funding (aside from the obvious waste on basketball). This isn’t a big state school, unfortunately majority of the students can care less about sports. Its sad but unfortunately true. From first hand experience, I know that varsities don’t even have enough. Oh an if you haven’t realized it yet, GW doesn’t care enough about their sports in general, no matter what level you are playing. Good luck to you and your team and I hope you can get your funding
Being on the e-board of a club sport, I can tell you GW does help with fundraising. I constantly have emails in my inbox about good fundraising opportunities. If other clubs don’t take advantage of these opportunities, it’s not GW’s problem.
