Staff Editorial: A responsive mindset

The Hatchet’s Editorial Board explains why the University’s reopening of the Laura Treanor is not only a good decision but represents positive and responsive leadership.

Since obtaining confirmation from the D.C. Medical Examiner’s office, the administration’s response has greatly improved. In a recent statement, President Knapp said, “The results recently announced clearly call for a new review of the situation … on behalf of The George Washington University community, I extend my sincerest sympathy and condolences to the Treanor family and Laura’s many friends.”

I agree 100%. Placing blame is not the issue here. The issue is truly understanding the events of that night to prevent another family burying or visiting their son or daughter in the hospital. I praise any and all who come forward and help with this situation.

How is GW furthering this investigation. If any new information has become available they should make this public. I though I remember reading in some past blurb somewhere that they thought they had an “idea of what happened” Is this what they thought originally, but just kept quite?
