Andrew Pazdon: Time to press reset

Sophomore Andrew Pazdon, a Hatchet columnist, explains why now is a good time for GW to reset its financial priorities.

It appears that, for once, the University and I may already be on the same wavelength. There has recently been a substantial amount of construction around campus, such as the work on the Smith Center, Funger Hall, and the newly named South Hall. I applaud efforts to remedy ageing and crippled infrastructure to ensure that the University’s appearance is befitting of its reputation. I just hope that the University is more thoughtful in their priorities.

This is why sophomores should not be allowed to comment. Aging infrastructure? Do you know how much the University has spent on brand new buildings over the past decade? My guess is over 3/4 of a billion doolars. The infrastructure at GW is strong and new.

What our “astute” writer fails to realize is that if the University does not put money into these numerous dorm projects, there will not be any students to use gelman!

I know as a 19 year old, you think you have mastered the universe, but most of the time it comes off as talking out of your **s
