Subramanian: A new, nearly nude tradition

Freshman Annu Subramanian, a Hatchet columnist, argues that GW needs a new tradition.

During finals, we all go a bit crazy. As the rising temperatures evoke temptations of playing frisbee in University Yard and summer songs on repeat, the commitment to remain buried in our books becomes more difficult than ever. And so we need a break. What better reprieve could exist during the most stressful time of the semester than a primal jaunt through Foggy Bottom in our underwear?

This needs to happen. My girlfriend goes to UCLA and I was actually at one of their undie runs last year. It was ridiculous to see thousands of students running around campus bearing almost everything and then after the run they all met up on their intramural field and just danced with music blasting. This is definitely a tradition that needs to be started at GW THIS semester.

Don’t we already have that in the Anything But Clothes run? Seems like that’s a pretty synonymous thing, and it’s for a good cause, too. Why double up when you’ve already got something great?
